Coastal Cheerleading
Cheerleading classes are now being held at the Orange Beach Recreation Center. Mondays - 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. & Wednesdays - 7:15 - 8:15 p.m.
Cost - $60.00 per month for 1 class a week $80.00 per month for 2 classes a week $35.00 an hour for a private lesson $20.00 for half a hour of private lessons A 15% discount is given to siblings
Students will be taught cheers, chants, hand chant routines, jumps, tumbling and stunting. Students will increase their knowledge of cheerleading as well as their endurance, strength and flexibility. The instructor has coached junior varsity, all-star, co-ed and collegiate cheerleading. Parents are welcome to attend all classes and receive the first class on a trial basis. These classes are designed to cover all areas needed for middle school, high school and collegiate cheerleading try-outs.

Gym Etiquette Class
Ages 12 and up - This class introduces new members to the proper usage of the fitness equipment and proper conduct in the fitness center. Classes meet every other Saturday.

Women's Only Gym Class The Women's Only Gym Etiquete Class is offered every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. The class is recommened for anyone who is not familiar with gyms/fitness centers; anyone who would like to learn about different equipment, policies and procedures; and anyone who wants to increase strength, tone muscle and improve fitness. Sign up at the Recreation Center front desk. To ensure quality instruction, class size is limited! |
Summer Camps, Clinics & Programs at Recreation Center |
Camp Gator Summer Program Registration for Camp Gator begins in March. The program runs weekdays during the summer with hours between 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The program is for kids going into K - 6th grades and is open to Orange Beach residents only (proof of residency is required). The program includes opportunities for children to participate in individual and group activities through indoor and outdoor organized games, arts and crafts, movies, music, swimming, field trips, and special events. All activities are conducted under the direct supervision of full time and/or summer staff. Registration forms can be filled out at the Recreation Center beginning in March. Youth Volunteer Program - 2007
Fridays, June - July, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm, Ages 12-15. This returning favorite allows area youth to learn about their community while helping the community. Service hours can be earned for various school, church and civic organizations. Activities this summer include: a day at the Zoo, beach clean-up and other rewarding opportunities. Kids that participate in at least six of eight Fridays will be eligible for an end of summer fun trip. Registration fee is $20.00. Call Mike at 981-9563 for full details. |
Musical Theater Camp - 2007
June 18-29, 9 am-4 pm, School Age. Presented by the Starlight School of the Arts, this camp provides young actors with the chance to learn dramatics, dance, stage and make-up design, and choreography. Eco-Rangers - 2007
July 9-13, 9 am-12 noon, Ages 8-11. This science camp will focus on environmental education. Activities include hands on science experiments, hikes and field trips. Fee is $50 per child and includes camp, t-shirt and daily snack. Call 981-6028 for full details.

Passport to Fun Camp - 2007
July 17 - 20, 9 am-12 noon, Ages 8-11. This specialty camp offers children a multicultural experience and encourages an appreciation for other cultures. Activities will highlight cultures from around the world and will include arts and crafts, language, cooking and games. Fee is $50 per child and includes instruction, t-shirt and a light lunch.
