January 10, 10:30 am - "Opera Lunch & Learn" - We travel to Heritage Hall in Seville Quarter, Pensacola for lunch and join Pensacola Opera's Artistic Director Kyle Marrero for an interesting talk about 'Madame Butterfly' opera and hear excerpts sung by the Artists in Residence. Cost is $25.00 per person. Sign up begins January 3, payment due at sign up. We have tickets for 25. We'll depart at 10:30 am and should return by 3:00 pm. We will be departing from the Orange Beach Recreation Center. January 13, 10:00 am - Financial Friday - with Mr. Eric Nager of Southern Capital Services.
January 18, 6:00 pm - 'Honor Flight South Alabama' - Dr. Barry Booth, veteran and Guardian Director of Honor Flight South Alabama, will describe this program which flies WWII veterans to Washington to see the WWII Memorial placed in their honor.
January 20, 9:00 am - "Mobile Press Register Tour" - We will depart from the Orange Beach Senior Center and travel to Mobile. We will tour the Press Register. We'll stop for lunch on the way back. Lunch will be on your own. We have space available for 28. Cost is $5.00 per person for transportation. Sign up begins January 10, payment due at sign up.
January 23, 3:00 pm - "A Matter of Balance" - Information/Registration Meeting - This award winning program is designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. Classes are sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging/South Alabama Regional Planning Commission.
January 25, 6:00 pm - "After the Fire: The Backcountry Trail" - Phillip West, Coastal Resources Manager for the City of Orange Beach will describe the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail and the effects of the 2011 wildfire.
January 27, 9:30 am - "Carnival - Mardi Gras - Museum of Mobile" - We will department from the Orange Beach Senior Center and travel to Mobile. We will tour the Carnival Museum and then go to lunch. Lunch will be on your own. We have space available for 28. Cost is $10.00 per person for Museum entrance and transportation. Sign up begins January 12, payment due at sign up.
